Mr. Moore began his career in senior living in 1991, designing, supplying, and installing interior construction and finish components for assisted living and special care facilities in Washington and Oregon. Through the company he formed in 1993, Base Enterprises, Inc., he delivered services and products to more than 21 facilities. BEI continues today.
In 1996, Mr. Moore formed the investment and development group that became Northwest Senior Living Enterprises, LLC. As managing member, he identified and purchased properties, attracted investors and managed relations, focused the design and development of the projects, engaged city and state governments, and directed the management and operation of the facilities.
In 2002, the members of NWSL came together to form Round Lake Development Group, LLC. The Company participates in the consolidation of the assisted living industry by melding Mr. Moore's leadership, experience, and contacts with his assembly of industry experts to identify, purchase, and efficiently operate assisted living facilities.
In late 2000, Mr. Moore led a group of industry professionals which developed and implemented a $500,000 strategic plan to retain the Snoqualmie Valley Hospital's licensure and expand services offered its district. The hospital secured its license, integrated a senior services component as a revenue base, and recently won a district-wide election to collect tax revenue for the opening of a 24-hour emergency room. Mr. Moore's group also created a long-term development plan for its grounds, including a $50 million, 250 resident, 50,000 square foot medical/continuum-of-care campus.
Mr. Moore is also active in senior living internationally, providing consulting services to Japan, Costa Rica, and Canada. These services include general and specific financial planning, fundamentals of property location, introduction to necessary resident services, investor relations, and project evaluation. He is also leading an initiative called CareMetrics to enhance resident service and financial performance through technology.
After graduating from Yale University in 1985 (earning a BA in Economics and Political Science and seven varsity letters), Mr. Moore managed business units for Pepsi-Cola, LA and American Scientific Products in Albuquerque, New Mexico, setting records for sales in both positions. In 1989, he earned an MBA in Finance and Marketing from the University of Oregon, attending on an academic scholarship and making the Dean's list in each quarter (and coaching the intramural champion Men's MBA Softball Team). He resides in Bellevue, WA with his wife, Sarah, and three children and is active in the community as a sports coach.
