about Round Lake
Round Lake - Past, Present, and Future
After graduating from Yale University in 1985, Bill Moore managed business units for Pepsi-Cola in Los Angeles, CA, and American Scientific Products in Albuquerque, NM. In 1989, he earned an MBA with dual majors in Finance and Marketing from the University of Oregon. Mr. Moore began his career in Senior Living in 1991, designing interior construction and finish components for assisted living and special care communities in Washington and Oregon. Through the company he formed in 1993, Base Enterprises, Inc., he delivered services and products to more than 21 senior communities. In 1996, after studying the emerging senior care market, Mr. Moore formed the investment and development group Northwest Senior Living Enterprises LLC. As Managing Member, he identified and purchased properties, attracted investors, managed relations, focused the design and development of the projects, engaged city and state governments, and directed the management and operation of his first two communities in Bothell, Washington and Bend, Oregon.
In 2002, recognizing the potential of the Senior Living market, Mr. Moore and several Northwest Senior Living Enterprises investors founded Round Lake LLC to create a portfolio of Senior Living communities by both purchasing existing communities and adding new, ground-up construction to serve a broad spectrum of assisted living resident needs. It quickly added its first four communities to its portfolio and began developing plans for what would become its successful ground-up construction brands, Vineyard Park Assisted Living and The Cottages Memory Care communities.
"Own what we do," is a powerful phrase arching over the many facets of a business, and is an important part of why Round Lake purchased CarePartners Management Group LLC in 2008. Delivering excellent resident experience and care while providing for them efficiently and safely are the key components of successfully operating a senior community. CarePartners was an established brand with a successful and experienced management team, providing Round Lake with a dynamic and trusted operations unit while Round Lake would identify new purchase and construction opportunities. CarePartners also developed an in-house sales team again with a focus on finding the right place for prospective residents, whether they be a Round Lake community or a competitor. CarePartners has become the first call of choice of placement officers and families because they know they will find the right place to live, while our communities learned early on how to successfully compete in the marketplace. Our portfolio is growing because Round Lake and CarePartners offer a broad range of inviting living and financial options from Marysville to Lacey, an expanding footprint in eastern Washington beginning in Spokane, and deliver excellent returns for investors.
As Round Lake has developed, its core group of investors has expanded dramatically. The first seven members are now joined by some 75 individuals and companies investing in Round Lake's current portfolio of 19 communities in operation or under development. Round Lake is looking forward to implementing its growth plans for the balance of the 2020s and beyond.
Mr. Moore resides in Bellevue, Washington with his wife Sarah, and three children and is active in the community in charitable giving and as a sports coach.
